Biografía de Katy Perry

Katheryn Hudson, mejor conocida como Katy Perry, nació el 25 de octubre de 1984 en Santa Barbara, California. Siendo la hija del medio, creció en una familia católica, escuchando Gospel y cantando en la Iglesia.
Katy Perry afirmó que durante su adolescencia encontró un disco de Queen y "los cielos se abrieron y me salvaron. Desde entonces, han sido mi mayor influencia," dijo en una entrevista para la publicación Blender, además mencionó que no era “la típica Cristiana”, pues había hecho “muchas cosas malas” durante su adolescencia.
Con 17 años, Katy Perry comenzó a trabajar con el productor y compositor Glen Ballard. Sus canciones le llamaron la atención a Jason Flom, presidente de Capitol Music Group, así que Katy Perry firmó con Capitol Music en la primavera de 2007, y fue nombrada por Blender «La Nueva Promesa».
Sus canciones han aparecido en series de Mtv como » The Hills» (“Self-Inflicted” and “Thinking of You”) , y en el reality “Fight Girls” (“Fingerprints” - Banda Sonora del Programa), y en 2005 en la película “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” (“Simple”). Además colaboró en el single del año 2006 del grupo P.O.D (Payable on Death) “Goodbye For Now.”
Entre sus influencias musicales se encuentran Queen, The Beach Boys, Heart, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, y la canadiense Alanis Morissette. Su disco debut One Of The Boys, salió a la venta en el 2008.
